Dani Howard was one of Mark's first students, at Kennedy School in 1998 with talent abounding. She was just 5 years old and it took her a whole year before she actually was able to sit (just barely!) on the full sized drum kit at school. She played an a small table top with her sticks, her feet tapping away on the floor to replicate the Hi Hat & Kick drum. She continued onwards, moving to Bradbury School and then at South Island School till Mark migrated to NZ in 2005.

Mark got Dani to join him on Percussion at a Christmas Concert at her old school (Bradbury) in 2009 and then again met with Dani in 2011, before she embarked to London to study Composing & Arranging at the Royal Schools of Music. She won a scholarship, with over 10,000 applicants and only 8 being selected...she was one of those chosen 8!! Congratulations...all the hard work was truly recognized. Dani, is a virtuoso Cellist and Pianist and also strums a mean guitar! Visit Dani's website at http://www.danihoward.com

Ayla Tse: Ayla was another very talented young drummer, who also started at Kennedy school at the age of 7 a few years after Dani. Within 4 years, at the age of 11 at West Island School, she was already performing Grade 3 Trinity College exam pieces with dexterity. Ayla continued studying for another year after Mark's departure to NZ and then gave it up...a real shame!!

Mark got to meet the talented young lady and her brother Brandon
(also a drum student) in 2011 when Mark performed with the HK Players for their Musical at the HK Arts Centre. Ayla, is now a gifted photographer!!

Dani & Ayla both share the same birthday...now is that a co-incidence?!!!
